Traeger Woodridge Review
The best Traeger for most people, and the one that quietly solves the job nobody enjoys: it collects grease and ash in a single removable container.

Who this is for
Someone who wants a Traeger, will use the app, and would rather have the easiest maintenance on the market than the most cooking area. 860 square inches handles 6 chickens, 8 rib racks or 6 pork butts by Traeger’s own count — enough for most households and most parties.
The EZ-Clean keg deserves the attention
On every other grill in our registry, cleanup is two jobs: empty the grease tray or bucket, and separately vacuum ash out of the burn pot. The Woodridge collects both into one container you lift out and empty.
That sounds like a convenience feature and it is also, indirectly, a performance feature. Ash accumulation in the burn pot is the most common cause of the temperature swings people blame on controllers. A cleanup routine you will actually keep up with means a grill that holds temperature better in year three. See how to clean a pellet grill.
What it does not have
- Super Smoke mode. That starts with the Woodridge Pro and the Ironwood.
- A digital pellet sensor. Also a Woodridge Pro feature — and on an 18 lb hopper, the one you might actually want.
- Direct-flame searing. No Traeger has it. Sear grates are the fix.
- A big hopper. 18 lb, about fourteen hours at smoking temperatures.
Value, stated plainly
A Pit Boss Navigator 1300 gives you 1,329 square inches — 469 more — at similar money, with a 30 lb hopper and five years of warranty. If cost per square inch is your criterion, the Woodridge loses badly.
What you get instead is the app, the keg, the accessory ecosystem and the resale value. Those are real; whether they are worth 469 square inches is the question only you can answer. Full comparison: Navigator 1300 vs Woodridge.
Within the Woodridge family
| Model | Cooking area | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Woodridge | 860 sq in | The baseline: WiFIRE + EZ-Clean keg |
| Woodridge Pro | 970 sq in | Super Smoke, digital pellet sensor, folding side shelf |
| Woodridge Pro Plus | 970 sq in | A storage cabinet |
| Woodridge Elite | 970 sq in | Insulated body and a side sear station |
The Pro is the step worth considering, for the pellet sensor. The Pro Plus adds a cupboard. The Elite adds insulation and a sear station, and by then you are into premium territory where the Camp Chef Woodwind Pro becomes a different kind of argument.

Questions people actually ask
Is the Traeger Woodridge worth it?
As a Traeger, yes — it is the best balance of capacity, temperature and cleanup in their range. As pure value, no: a Pit Boss Navigator 1300 gives you 469 more square inches at similar money.
What is the EZ-Clean Grease & Ash Keg?
One removable container that collects both grease and ash, replacing the usual two-job routine. It is the best cleanup design on any pellet grill we cover.
Does the Woodridge have Super Smoke?
No. Super Smoke and the digital pellet sensor start with the Woodridge Pro. The standard Woodridge has WiFIRE and the keg.
Did the Woodridge replace the Pro 575?
Effectively, yes — along with the Westwood. The Pro 575 is no longer a current model, and the Westwood and Woodridge now occupy its place in the range.
