Why this site exists

We read ten competing pellet grill pages before building this one. Not a single one showed a live price — they show a price band, or a figure from whenever the article was written, or nothing at all. Meanwhile the most-searched question in this category is a price question.

That gap is the whole premise. Pelletgrill & Smoker reads the current Amazon price for every product on the site once a day and writes it straight into the page, stamped with the date. Right now 69 products carry a live price. If the data goes stale for 48 hours, every number disappears and the buttons fall back to a price check, because a wrong price is worse than no price.

Beyond that, the site is written for one specific person: someone who wants 90% of the result for 40% of the price, is suspicious of being upsold, and wants to know the trade-off before the compliment. Every pick here has a “where it falls short” section, including the ones ranked first.

Who writes it

Every article, review, comparison and guide on this site carries that byline, and it is the same person throughout — there is no rotating staff of freelancers here.

What we are not going to do is inflate it. There is no certification, no years-in-the-industry claim, no competition record and no professional pitmaster background on offer, because none of those is true. What is true is that the research is real, the prices are live, and the method is published.

How the research works

Every pick here is researched from the maker's published specifications, recognized standards and verified owner feedback, scored on our published rubric, and shown with a live price. Four sources: each manufacturer’s published specifications, live price data from Amazon’s catalogue, the warranty and support terms the brand commits to in writing, and owner reports, which we always label as owner reports.

One thing you will not find here is a testimonials section. We publish no reviews of our own business, because there are none to publish, and inventing them would make everything else on the site worthless.
