Traeger Westwood vs Woodridge
Both have the app, which is the main reason to buy Traeger. The Woodridge adds capacity, 50 degrees and the best cleanup system Traeger makes.

The EZ-Clean keg is the real upgrade
Grease and ash collect into one removable container. On the Westwood you handle them separately, which means emptying a tray and vacuuming the burn pot.
That matters more than it sounds, because ash accumulation in the burn pot is the most common cause of the temperature swings people blame on controllers. A cleanup system you will actually keep up with is a performance feature in disguise.
653 vs 860 square inches
207 square inches is roughly two extra rib racks or two extra chickens. Whether that is worth the step depends on whether you host. For a family of four, the Westwood’s dual-tier 653 square inches is already plenty.
The 50-degree ceiling difference is secondary — neither grill has direct flame, so both want sear grates for a proper steak crust.
Neither fixes the hopper
Both carry 18 lb, which is Traeger’s weakest specification across the entire range. At roughly 1.25 lb an hour at smoking temperatures that is about fourteen hours — enough for most cooks, tight for a long brisket in cold weather.
If an overnight cook without intervention is your priority, the Woodridge Pro’s digital pellet sensor at least warns you, and a Pit Boss Navigator 850’s 30 lb hopper removes the problem.
Our call
The Westwood for value, the Woodridge if the EZ-Clean keg appeals or you need the extra capacity. The keg is the kind of feature that is easy to dismiss on a spec sheet and easy to appreciate after twenty cooks.

How it scores
Weighted rubric score: 8.2/10. Value carries the most weight on this site by design. On our published scale that is 9.4/10.
What it does well
- WiFIRE for several hundred dollars less than the Pro 780
- 653 sq in is enough for most families
- P.A.L. rail accessories and integrated side shelf included
Where it falls short
- 450°F instead of 500°F, so searing is the weak point again
- Still costs more per square inch than any Pit Boss or Z Grills here
- No Super Smoke mode — that starts at Ironwood and Woodridge Pro

Questions people actually ask
Is the Traeger Westwood or Woodridge better?
The Woodridge is the better grill — 207 more square inches, a 500°F ceiling and the EZ-Clean keg. The Westwood is the better value if 653 square inches is enough, because both have WiFIRE.
Do both have WiFIRE?
Yes. The Westwood is the cheapest Traeger with the app, and the Woodridge has it too.
What is the EZ-Clean Grease & Ash Keg?
A single removable container that collects both grease and ash, so cleanup is one job instead of two. It is on the Woodridge range and not the Westwood.
